Pereira, Colombia – Neeuro’s dedicated partner in Colombia, AZ Proyectos Educativos, has achieved a significant milestone in educational inclusion this year by successfully launching the NeeuroFIT curriculum in remote, rural areas that historically lack internet connectivity.
This innovative deployment marks a breakthrough in bringing advanced cognitive training to underserved communities, ensuring that geographical and technological barriers do not impede learning equality.
Validating the impact: from urban success to rural solutions
This rural initiative in Risaralda is not an isolated experiment; it is based on a solid foundation of prior experience and validation in urban schools.
Before expanding to remote areas, AZ Proyetos Educativos had already been successful in the implementation of the NeeuroFIT curriculum in the city of Pereira, which allowed them to establish a track record in local schools and provide the initial confidence and data needed to envision a broader reach.
In Medellín, the validation process was thorough and was based in two key parts. First, a dedicated three-month pilot program was conducted at La Sierra educational institution prior to the rural launch, which served as a critical testing ground. Later, concurrently with the project in Risaralda a second pilot was carried out at Cosmos Schools.
Both the extensive work in Pereira and the specific pilots in Medellín proved to be highly effective, delivering very favorable results. This experiences confirmed the methodology’s ability to increase and enhance student focus and learning, paving the way for an offline solution that's now being used in the rural areas of Risaralda.
The successful launch is part of a dedicated inclusion initiative by AZ Proyectos Educativos and the Risalda government which benefits 3,700 students in 50 schools in the region’s rural areas. Recognizing the digital divide, the organization developed a robust, self-contained solution to deliver the NeeuroFIT program offline.
Each package includes the Neeuro SenzeBand - the EEG headband that monitors cognitive states - and tablets pre-loaded with the NeeuroFIT cognitive games and curriculum.
By packaging the hardware and software for offline use, AZ Proyectos Educativos has ensured that students can engage in essential cognitive skills training—including attention, memory, and decision-making—without the need for constant, or any, internet access. This approach allows students to train their brain functions while playing, leveraging Neeuro’s proven methodology for measurable and personalized learning experiences.
