On the 18th of November, we had the privilege of being able to participate in ITE Central’s Campus Game Fest 2017. Campus Game Fest was organised by the Singapore Cybersports and Online Gaming Association (SCOGA) in collaboration with ITE College Central and the People’s Association Youth Movement. The event featured a variety of well-known tabletop games such as Magic the Gathering, and even video game juggernauts such as FIFA and Pokemon. Needless to say, it was an extremely prestigious group to be in.

A Fun Brain Training Competition With THK and MWS

Neeuro was invited down to Campus Game Fest in order to help run a round of friendly competition of brain games for the elderly of Thye Hwa Kuan Senior Activity Center and Methodist Welfare Senior Activity Center.Prior to the actual event, the elderly underwent a few rounds of practice for memory and attention  training games that would be played on the actual day of the game fest, namely Memorie’s Pyramid Solitaire and Memory Mahjong.

Pyramid Solitaire, a strategic game that trains memory and decision making

Memory Mahjong, a memory training game that requires players to recall mahjong tiles

They were of course, not alone. Students from ITE Central helped to provide them with both company as well as technical assistance with regards to playing the games. The competition proved to be a day of fun, excitement and prizes for the elderly!

Another highlight was undoubtedly when the Guest of Honor, Mr Baey Yam Keng who is a Member of Parliament from Tampines GRC took time to speak with some of the elderly.

All in all, it proved to be a fulfilling and delightful day for the elderly, students and the Neeuro team that was present at the event. Many thanks to SCOGA and ITE College Central for the opportunity to participate in Campus Game Fest 2017!
