On the 18th of November, Neeuro participated in the ITE Campus Game Fest (CGF). This event was organised by the Singapore Cybersports & Online Gaming Association in association with ITE College, Central Central and People’s Association Youth Movement. During the actual event, Neeuro hosted a segment in which elderly from Thye Hwa Kwan Senior Activity Center and Methodist Welfare Senior Activity Centers got together to have a bout of friendly competition using Memorie’s Pyramid Solitaire and Memory Mahjong.

it started bright and early at 9.45 when the elderly started streaming into ITE’s very spacious multipurpose hall, where they started to settle down with their various student helpers and had a light breakfast of bread and mineral water. Eventually, they began practicing the two games and started to settle into the rhythm of playing the games. After a few rounds of practice, they began the competition. After all the proceedings were finished, the winners were handed out a variety of enticing prices. It proved to be a day of fun, games and prizes! The highlight of the day was arguably when CGF’s Guest of Honor, Member of Parliment Mr Baey Yam Keng dropped by, where after he made his speech regarding the growing importance of eSports, he managed to speak to a few of the elderly. This seemed to really perk the elderly up after an exciting round of competition!

All in all, it was a really busy but ultimately rewarding and fun day for the elderly, students and us here at Neeuro. Many thanks to ITE, and SCOGA for the opportunity to join in on the fun of the Campus Game Fest!
